Diana Gatrill, B.F.A., studied at Cambridge School of Art & Technology, U.K., with Alec Heath, John Bolam, Christopher Cornford, Jasper Rose; at Concordia University, Montreal, with Jean Guogen, Gita Caisserman-Roth, Barry Wainwright; and at The University of British Columbia, Vancouver, with Judy Williams, Wendy Dobereiner, Gordon Payne and Geoffrey Smedley.
Born in East Africa, supposed to be related to the Landseer family, Diana emigrated to Canada in the late 1960's and has lived in Montreal, Ottawa and Vancouver.
Using the mediums of acrylic, watercolour and pencil, Diana's paintings and drawings reflect her surroundings, particulary her interest in aspects of the West Coast, portraits, gardens and objects in daily use. She works from life and photographs.
