GMA performed the role of Deputy Director, New Building Project, and was responsible for the management of design and construction of the $80 million interior fit-up program for the 100,000 m2 Canadian Museum of Civilization (CMC) in the National Capital region. Developed the management plan and CMC organization, negotiated the contracts and directed all prinicipal players. Hands-on project management of the following:
Grand Hall Native Indian Village - $7 million Grand Hall containing a West Coast Indian village of six full-size houses built in B.C.
Canada Hall - $10 million History Hall containing 20 full-size historic buildings, artifacts, A/V shows, lighting, etc.
Children’s Museum - $500,000 Children's Museum containing hands-on exhibits and workshops.
Museum Retail Sales Shop -150 M2 two-level museum retail sales shop. Total budget $750,000.
Special Exhibition Halls - three flexible exhibition halls having modular display systems. $5 million budget.
Performance Theatre - 400 seat multi-purpose theatre with 19 line set fly system, computer controlled theatrical lighting and sound system, film projection, infra-red translation system, etc. Fit up budget $2.5 million.
Imax Theatre - $6 million Imax/ Omnimax theatre with retractible dome.
Offices /laboratories - for staff.
